PopTrayU Beta Info
PopTrayU is currently in beta. This page summarizes known deficiencies and workarounds.
Last Updated for 5.0 beta 12
- IMAP SASL with Gmail
logging into Gmail using IMAP may not work if Auto or SASL authentication modes are selected. Change the authentication mode to Password if this issue is encountered.
- POP3 SSL
Versions 4.1.2 and above no longer require ProtocolPOP3SSL.dll. The installer does not automatically remove this file however. If you have installed the SSL plugin for earlier versions, please uninstall it first, then install the new SSL plugin. Should you experience crashes or errors relating to ProtocolPOP3SSL.dll you may need to manually delete this file.
- IMAP4/IMAP4 SSL
XP may not be able to support TLS 1.1 or 1.2. Users of XP might need to use advanced (account) options to specify an older TLS version if the default settings don't work when use SSL/TLS is enabled. In versions 4.1 and 5.0 IMAP4 SSL has some known issues that have not yet been fixed.
- Dark Theme
Time spinners and right-click menus do not match theme yet.
- International Character Support
Replying to emails via MAPI or MAILTO may not fully support international character sets.
- No Automatic Import for PopTray.ini
If you select a different user data storage location than you were previously using, you must manually copy PopTray.ini as well as rules and whitelist/blacklist files to the new storage location. Re-run setup or use command line parameters if you wish to change the user data storage location.
- Custom Fonts
At this time, vertical space is not added/adjusted for many components if you select a significantly larger font-size than the customary default, resulting in a less than satisfactory experience for users of extra large fonts. If there is a particular part of the UI where this is especially bothersome, please create a ticket (aka bug report) in our bug-tracker, so we can prioritize what to fix first.
